BUSINESS EDUCATION FOR EQUINE & EQUESTRIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS

Nobody starts a photography business because they dream of writing emails.

Or figuring out SEO.

Or building workflows.

Or trying to decide what to post on social media every Tuesday.

Most of us started because we wanted to create photographs we were proud of.

Then reality showed up.

Unbridled Business helps horse photographers build the marketing, pricing, workflows, client experience, and business systems behind a profitable photography business.

Rein in the Chaos. Grow Unbridled.

Running an equine photography business is only about 10-20% taking pictures.

The rest of it is marketing, sales, client communication, editing, bookkeeping, pricing, workflows, websites, SEO, AI, social media... and about a hundred other things no one warned you you're be responsible for.

And, when you photograph horses, there's another layer to all of it.

You're marketing to horse owners. Working around barns, weather, show schedules, and horses who occasionally have very strong opinions about your carefully planned session. You're selling photography in a niche where relationships matter, word travels quickly, and understanding the horse world matters almost as much as understanding photography.

And somehow, you're expected to figure out the business side while you're doing all of that.

No wonder so many photographers feel like they're constantly putting out fires instead of building the business they imagined.

The good news? You don't have to fix everything at once. You just need to know what to tackle next. That's what Unbridled Business is here to help you do.

What's Getting In Your Way Today?

You don't have to fix everything today. Start with the challenge that's slowing you down right now, and let's build from there.

I Want Better Photographs

You know how to use your camera. Now you want to create stronger images more consistently.

Whether you're working on horse and rider portraits, trying to become more intentional behind the camera, or wondering why the image you loved isn't doing quite what you thought it would, let's figure out what will make it stronger.

I Never Know What to Say

You can photograph the session just fine. Then someone emails asking about pricing and suddenly you've forgotten how words work.

From inquiries and pricing to website copy and client emails, let's make it easier to say what you need to say without sounding like somebody else wrote it for you.

I'm Not Getting Enough Inquiries

You're posting. You're showing up. You're doing all the marketing things you're apparently supposed to be doing.

And still...not enough of the right horse owners are reaching out.

Let's figure out who you're actually trying to reach, where to find them, and why the heck they should hire you.

I'm So Tired of Winging It

If every new client means recreating the same emails, remembering seventeen different things, and hoping nothing falls through the cracks, your business probably needs a few systems.

Not a 47-step process.

Just simple ways to stop doing the same work over and over again.

AI Feels Overwhelming

Every five minutes there's a new AI tool you're apparently supposed to know about.

You don't need all of them.

Let's figure out which ones can actually make running your photography business easier, what AI is terrible at, and how to use it without sounding like everyone else with a ChatGPT account.

I Don't Know What To Do Next

Your website needs work. Your marketing could be better. You should probably look at your pricing. Your workflow is a little questionable. And you've been meaning to do something with that email list since approximately 2023.

You don't need to fix all of it.

Let's figure out what actually deserves your attention first.

You Don't Need More Information.

You Need to Know What to Work on Next.

There is no shortage of photography business information out there.

Courses. YouTube videos. Facebook groups. Podcasts. Blog posts. AI. And that one photographer on Instagram who apparently figured out the entire secret to running a profitable business sometime last Tuesday.

The problem usually isn't finding something else you could be doing.

It's figuring out which thing actually matters in your business right now.

Because you probably don't need to redo your pricing, rebuild your website, create six new workflows, start a newsletter, post four Reels a week, learn three new AI tools, and completely rethink your marketing before Friday.

You need to figure out what's actually getting in your way.

Then start there.

I've Been in Your Boots, Too.

I didn't start out knowing how to run a photography business.

I had a background in marketing and business development, which definitely helped.

It did not, however, magically teach me how to price photography, get horse owners to hire me, build a client workflow, sell artwork, write seventeen thousand emails, or figure out what to do when something that worked beautifully last year suddenly stopped working.

I've learned by doing it.

I've tried things that worked. I've tried things that didn't. I've changed my pricing, rebuilt websites, changed my marketing, added systems, gotten rid of systems, learned new technology, and occasionally wondered why I thought any of this was a good idea.

And I'm still doing it.

That's a big part of what I bring to Unbridled Business.

I Practice What I Teach

I'm not teaching you how to run an equine photography business from the sidelines.

I'm still running one.

Through Ride the Sky Equine Photography, I photograph horses, riders, equestrian seniors, pets, and equestrian businesses.

So I'm still dealing with the same things you are. Finding the right clients. Figuring out what actually works in marketing. Communicating with clients. Selling photography. Building workflows. Keeping up with technology. And occasionally wondering how one person ended up with this many jobs.

Equine photography is also a big part of my work as an educator. I'm the co-author of Equine & Equestrian Photography: Poses That Sell, and I've spent years helping photographers create stronger images and build better businesses.

I speak, teach, mentor, judge, critique, and stay involved in the professional photography community.

But I'm still testing things in my own business, too.

Some work.

Some don't.

Some seemed like a fantastic idea right up until I actually tried them.

That's why I don't want to teach you something just because it sounds good on a PowerPoint slide.

I want to help you figure out what actually works when you have to go home and use it.

Paige E.

"I got so much from Betsy's class!! AI has been very overwhelming for me. She really broke it down, and actually got me excited about the possibilities of using it. I highly recommend any class she teaches. Her style is fun, non-intimidating, and FULL of actionable takeaways."

Liz S.

"...I struggled with composing content, but at the completion of class I was confident in utilizing what I learned. Betsy’s teaching style is engaging, and she takes great care to make sure everyone understands the content. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and... I would recommend any course she offers to my fellow photographers!"
